organic vs paid
Organic, or "natural" listings are the actual search results displayed by the search engines. These are based on the content and keyword relevancy of the website. This is in contrast to the results displayed based on who paid the most to occupy that prime spot. This is referred to as Pay Per Click, paid search or Sponsored Links.
Which one should you use to promote your site? Which one will get you that perfect customer who's playing hard to get?

Most people (87 to 90%) select the natural or organic results after conducting a search. A well-planned organic search campaign will empower your brand by creating a high level of credibility and generating buzz. It may take a few weeks to see the initial results, but your company will observe long-term benefits with a higher ROI.
A paid campaign can be implemented tomorrow, and you will get results tomorrow. Your company is purchasing a guaranteed position and visibility. Depending on the value of the word or key phrase used, a paid campaign can quickly become expensive. Another point to consider is the ominous "click fraud" (not all clicks are legitimate clicks) resulting in approximately 10% of all pay per clicks to be fraudulent.
